Powercolor ist not the only one to have a HD 4870 with 1 GiByte VRAM. Sapphire and Gecube each offer a similar card, too, but they both use the default cooler and are not available in Europe, yet.

Any further news or insights now that this card seems to be coming very soon?

i am in Australia and have found the card listed for release tomorrow at 5 different online stores.

it will retail at ~$415AUD and is said to have the core overclocked to 850MHz and the memory overclocked to 950MHz (3.8Gbps)

this is the description at one of the stores...
POWERCOLOR 4870 1GB 1024MB PCS+ OVERCLOCKED 800/3800Mhz


So far this is the only 4870 with 1Gb _and_ a non-reference cooler that i can see on the horizon.

surely more will follow?? im happy to buy this one but i would love an update about it
