Can't wait for AMD to make a comeback in the CPUs already! I miss buying AMD processors. No matter what you like, we all need the competitiveness and AMD is in huge trouble...

I think they did so because 3 GiByte can be run in Triple Channel mode - a feature supported by Core i7 only.
