Today PCGH can deliver benchmark results of AMD's Radeon HD 4850. We check the RV770's performance with several games and synthetic benchmarks.
After the recent Launch of Nvidia's Geforce GTX 280 and GTX 260, we now deliver benchmark results for AMD's Radeon HD 4850.

For our tests we used a
C2D E8500 with 3.6 GHz clock speed on an
Asus P5N-D motherboard with an
Nforce 750i SLI chipset. 4 GiByte DDR2-800 RAM and Windows
Vista x64 complete our setup. The driver for the Nvidia cards is the Geforce 177.34 and for the Radeon cards we use the Catalyst 8.5 - the
Radeon HD 4850 is an exception because we are using the recently released Catalyst 8.6.
We ran the same benchmarks on the same system as within our
GTX 280 Review. Among our benchmarks are Futuremark's
3DMark Vantage,
Crysis,
Bioshock,
World in Conflict,
UT3,
Call of Duty 4,
Need for Speed Carbon,
Oblivion with Quarls texture-pack 1.3,
Half-Life 2 (dt.)
: Episode 2 with Fakefactory's Cinematic Mod 8, the OpenGL title
Prey and
Call of Juarez with the DirectX 10 Enhancement-Pack.
