The internet spawns rumors about the successor of the GT200. (picture: Nvidia)
In order to prevent the possible loss of power,
hardspell.com suspects Nvidia to skip the
55 Nanometer chip
GT200b and present the
GT300 as a direct successor. This chip is supposed to have 384 streaming processors and one GiByte
GDDR5 memory, which is connected via a 256 bit interface. The VRAM is supposed to be capable of clock speeds beyond 4,000 MHz - this value is likely to have the value doubling of the Double Data Rate. The chip itself is said to be produced in 45 nanometers structure and have a clock speed of about 850 Megahertz.
Just as all the rumors that haunt the internet this piece of information has to be notices with a lot of
skepticism.
