Is the GT200b skipped?

Possible specifications of the GT300?

Author: (Jul 11, 2008) - Nvidia's GT200 graphics cards are wearing the performance crown at the moment. But this could change with the expected Radeon HD 4870 X2. The GT300 is said to turn the tide again.

In order to prevent the possible loss of power, hardspell.com suspects Nvidia to skip the 55 Nanometer chip GT200b and present the GT300 as a direct successor. This chip is supposed to have 384 streaming processors and one GiByte GDDR5 memory, which is connected via a 256 bit interface. The VRAM is supposed to be capable of clock speeds beyond 4,000 MHz - this value is likely to have the value doubling of the Double Data Rate. The chip itself is said to be produced in 45 nanometers structure and have a clock speed of about 850 Megahertz.

Just as all the rumors that haunt the internet this piece of information has to be notices with a lot of skepticism.
