The C2D E8600 comes with 3.33 Gigahertz (333 MHz FSB x multiplier 10) and is produced in a 45 Nanometer process. It seems like it will be shipped out in the E0 stepping directly. The Dual Core processor is based on the Wolfdale Core, has 6,144 KiByte L2 cache and a TDP of 65 watt.

Benchmark results and overclocking experiments (New Super Pi World Record) have been spread for quite some time. Now Fudzilla wants to have learned that the currently fastest Dual Core CPU will be officially introduced on August 10. Furthermore Intel is said to have no plans for releasing a faster Dual Core based on Wolfdale later on.
