RV710 vs. 9400GT

[THW] Radeon HD 4550 versus Geforce 9400 GT

The guys at Toms Hardware Taiwan are among the first to compare the low-budget cards from AMD and Nvidia. They deliver the specifications and four benchmarks.

The technical specifications of the Geforce 9400 GT are final and confirmed, since we already reviewed the card. With clock speeds of 500/1,350/400 megahertz the 9400 GT is about halve as fast as the 9500 GT. The RV710 of the HD 4550 runs at 600 and the VRAM at 800 megahertz.

In 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 06 the Radeon HD 4550 is a little better than the Geforce 9400 GT, but the both synthetic benchmarks don't really deliver results comparable to real gaming performance. The two cards aren't indented for gamers anyway.
