Female videogame characters

PCGH Special: The most important female characters in PC games (part 3 - 161 entires)

Since PCGH already held two history lessons about women in computer games, we now deliver the - possibly - ultimate lineup.

PCGH takes a look at 26 years of eventful history: Women as leading characters, women as eye candy in supporting roles or even real life models for games, like in the recent parts of the NfS series. From Ms. Pac-Man to Lara Croft and Alyx, all of them are included.

To deliver the perfect list of all the popular and important female game characters is not an easy task. PCGH tried to do it twice already. Once again we worked through the feedback of our community and now we have 161 candidates on our list.

Some characters appear more than once in the gallery: This happens if we thought that a second appearance was worth another entry. Furthermore we have to mention that we tried to deliver historical material, but sometimes had to use new material since there aren't any original pictures available.

Have fun with this absolutely subjective time travel through the history of gaming. If you miss a character, don't hesitate to tell us in the comments.

Here we have some of the new characters. At this point we want to thank the community for all the suggestions:

- Jeannette "Angel" Devereaux
- Mariko "Spirit" Tanaka

Jade from BGE and Kate Archer from NOLF are the sweetest girls (as characters... or as persons if you wish) from games imho.
Oh, and Alicia Klaus from Bullet Witch looks incredibly beautiful!
