The rumor had been spread a while ago and now the Wirtschaftswoche reports under reference to a member Siemens' board of directors, that the separation is almost done. Accordingly Siemens' shares of the cooperation have been offered for sale in late September. Currently the price is the only topic of the discussions. The IG Metall (German labor union) wants the plants in Germany with their 6200 employees to be part of the negotiations. Possible buyers are the former partner Fujitsu and the Computer manufacturer Lenovo.

Fujitsu Siemens had been founded in 1999 as a Joint Venture in the Netherlands, but a big part of the factories and workforce is located in Germany. The product array of the concern covers several sectors like Home Entertainment, Notebooks or server market and contains hardware as well as the related services.

Over the last months the company tried to catch consumers attention with Green IT products for the home user.
