About two weeks before the PC version of GTA 4 is released, the first details of the copy protection measurements showed up on the internet.

Allegedly a picture of the back side of the GTA 4 (PC) box has been published on the website of the British shop Tesco. The text on the box contained the following sentence: "Initial activation requires internet connection”.
This would mean an internet connection is necessary when playing GTA 4 for the first time. But there won't be a limited number of possible activations says the
report on gtagaming.com.
