Checking the visual apperance of the Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia: Graphics settings compared plus system requirements

Three years after The Two Thrones the Prince of Persia comes back to the PC on December 11. We already dealt with the game to deliver the first pictures and comparisons of the graphics settings.

Prince of Persia: Engine and system requirements
The new Prince of Persia title is based, like Assassin's creed, on the Anvil Engine, but renounces a realistic visualization in favor for an so called Illustrated Art Style (some kind of Cel-Shading or moving artwork)

Decisive for a smooth gaming experience is a (dual-core) processor in the first place. But you should at least have a middle-class graphics card for higher resolutions and/or FSAA. The official minimal system requirements can be found in the Ubisoft Forum.

Minimal System requirements
• Operating system: Windows XP or Windows Vista
• Processor: Intel Pentium D 2.6 GHz / AMD Athlon X2 3800+ (Recommended: C2D 2.2 GHz / X2 4400+)
• RAM: 1 GiByte (XP) / 2 GiByte (Vista)
• Hard drive space: 8 GiByte
• Graphics card: Shader Model 3 with 256 MiByte (Geforce 6800 or better / Radeon X1600 or better)

Prince of Persia: The graphics options
Prince of Persia is started via a game launcher - adjustments in the graphics options are possible outside the game only. As usual for console ports there are only a few options available at all:

• Screen Resolution
• Antialiasing
• Graphics Quality
• High resolution textures

In our version forcing AF in the display driver worked without problems.

All screenshots were taken at a resolution of 2,560 x 1,200 with a Geforce GTX 280. They are displayed at 1,280 x 800. On the following pages you can take a look at our comparative pictures and a benchmark.

yea i just got the game. It runs good.

I just played a bit of the begining... and he starts calling out "Farrah"... and he doesnt seem to be a real mean character..

in my opinion this game would fit chronologically inbetween Sands of time and Warror Within..

since ive heard that there is no possibility for a sequal from Two Thrones.

Anywayz its not a crappy port. But kindof wish there were more graphical options... but i would have had it all set to max anywayz. I run at 2AA..

i looked at the difference of 4AA and 2AA and i couldnt pin point the difference enough to actually want 4AA. Meh...

so matt try updating your drivers... ur card is a bit old.. maybe stick to 2AA. Thats what i am doing but i dont geta slow down on 4AA though.

i do have a 4870 and i only use 2AA on 1024x1280 (19 inch screen)

interesting note: prince of persia for pc has absolutely no game copy protection. not even a unique code for every game. You dont even need the disk to run this game. Kudos to them! atleast we are getting our point across... we nag about lagish game copy protection.

a search on google revealed this:

Try to install Visual C++ and see if it helps.

instead of having to sell your soul to the devil in order to get an 8800GTX! (500-600 dollars back then... DAMN )

hehe, yeah but 8800GTX might have been the best investent in a GPU ever. It's still going strong today.

Just recently I built a new comp that cost me 800$ and i run everything on max and will do so for at least another 3 years. It's good to be in the PC market these days
