Better textures, less bloom

Mod: Need for Speed Undercover with better graphics

The visual appearance of Need for speed Undercover had been target of harsh criticism because of the washy textures and the excessive bloom effects. The modder An7hraX released a High Definition Texture Pack for NfS Undercover that enhanced the graphics of the game.

The modification for Need for Speed Undercover alters the textures of the game so that they are sharper. According to modder An7hraX almost all ground textures, track boundaries, vegetation and even buildings and road signs have been changed. Since the texture size doesn't seem to have been altered though, the performance should be very different.

Furthermore the exaggerated blooming that gives the game some candy look is altered. For this purpose the modder used the ENBseries mod by Boris Vorontsow we reported about just recently. On the next pages you can find comparative pictures to get your own impression of the differences between the original graphics and the mod.

Attention: You have to be careful if you want to use the mod for online games: The d3d9.dll file is altered and that can cause Punkbuster to react.
