The information is explicitly tagged as preview. A full review has not been made. The system was based on a MSI DKA790GX Platinum board; the graphics card was an Asus 4870 TOP with 512 MiByte. The operating system was installed onto a Patriot Warp V3 32 GByte SSD.

For running of SuperPi 1M the Phenom II X4 940 (3 GHz default clock speed) needed 22.9 seconds. SuperPi 32M was finished after 24 minutes and 15 seconds. The Cinebench R10 delivered a multi-core render result of 9754 points.

Overclocked to 4 Gigahertz the Phenom II was able to finish SuperPi 1M after 16.9 seconds, the Cinebench R10 result increased to 12,883 points.

More results can be found in the thread at breakthelimit.net.

I think everyone knew these new Phenom 2 CPU's would be about the same perf as Core2Duo/Quad or even lesser... thats what I thought anyway.

Going by the Super PI results this is pretty average.

My E6300 @ 3ghz does SuperPI 1M in 19.xx seconds

I upgraded this cpu to a E6420 yesterday (got it for $45 so why not hehe)

The E6420 @ 3ghz does SuperPI 1M in 17.xx seconds (the extra 2mb cache mem must help a lot in suppi)

@ 3.42ghz SuperPI 1M is 15.xx seconds... considering this brand new Phenom 2 @ 4ghz does this at 16.xx seconds its not looking good for AMD.
