Testing 7 up to 120 days

30 days period of Windows 7 extended

About 2.5 million downloads of Windows 7 were available. Those who don't have an official product key can nevertheless install and use Windows 7 for 30 days. This period can be quadrupled with a trick.
The cmd.exe has to be run as administrator.

Microsoft grants a 30 days test period for the new Windows version. For this trial a product or activation code is not required. But the duration of this test can be extended to 120 days with a Windows internal mechanism.

To achieve this you have to run the cmd.exe, which can be found by typing "cmd” into the Windows search, as an administrator. In the now open command prompt you have to type: "slmgr.vbs -rearm”.

This sets the activation time of Windows back to 30 days after the system is restarted. All in all this trick can be used three times, extending the trial period to a maximum of 120 days.

This trick works for XP and Vista too, says Tweakpc.

Its important that this trick be done on the last day of your activation period to maximize your time... if you do it after 1 day you'll only get 32 days etc.

PCGH do you know if there are any more Beta keys? I managed to get one last week and another for my HTPC last night... didnt think many people were interested.
