Even before the Cebit has officially opened its gates, Asus gave us some detailes of the microATX motherboard Rampage II Gene. Like the bigger Rampage II Extreme the Gene is a high-end board with X58 chipset and socket 1366 for Core i7 CPUs. Accordingly the Rampage II Gene has two graphics slots (either for SLI or Crossfire) and six memory slots for Triple Channel setups. Furthermore it is said to offer several overclocking features and X-Fi features.
Thus the Rampage II Gene enters direct competition with DFI's microATX motherboard JR X58-T3H6 which also has an X58 chipset.
