According to the latest rumors Diablo III will be released in 2009. The system requirements seem to be quite moderate too if you believe the ones that became available.

News from the rumor mill. Diablo III, which is currently developed by Blizzard, is said to be released on December 24, 2009, after about 4 years of development. A multiplayer beta version is supposed to be scheduled for September 11, 2009.
Furthermore the alleged system requirements have been released. We cannot say if the information provided by
kaputik.com is correct though.
PC:
• OS: Windows Vista/XP
• CPU: 1.4 GHz or better
• RAM: 1 GiByte or more
• GPU: 128 MiByte DX9 graphics card
• HDD: 4 to 8 GByte
Mac:
• OS: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or newer
• CPU: 1.6 GHz or better
• RAM: 1 GiByte or more, DDR RAM recommended
• GPU: 128 MiByte AMD Ati or Nvidia graphics card
• HDD: 4 to 8 GByte
