On first sight the GM-M8000 isn't very impressive but it is not the look that counts. Inside the mouse offers high-end laser technology and has a 4,000 dpi sensor - precision is very good with this equipment. Like most of the currently available gaming devices the ergonomic design of the M8000 is intended for right handed use. Via USB the about 180 centimeter cable is connected to the PC. Gigabyte also made the weight of the mouse adjustable and delivers one additional 20 grams weight and three 6 grams weights. The Teflon feet provide a smooth movement on almost any mouse pad.

With the Ghost Engine software the 7 buttons of the GM-M8000 can be assigned with various actions or macros. The mouse is also able to save profiles that can be switched by pressing the profile button on the mouse. Another button positioned behind the 4-way mouse wheel allows you to adjust the sensitivity - the current level is indicated by LEDs on the left side. As the pressure point of the buttons is concerned, the GM-M8000 is doing quite good.

In the current issue of our German print magazine the GM-M8000 had to compete against nine other gaming mice. All in all Gigabyte's first gaming mouse did very well and reached the second place in the ranking, only beaten by Logitech's G9x - which costs about 90 Euro while the GM-M8000 is sold for about 50 Euro. Additionally the GM-M8000 received the PC Games Hardware Top Technology Award.
