Gothic 3 with patch 1.7: Screenshots reveal enhanced graphics

Only recently the Community Patch 1.7 for Gothic 3 has been released. Besides several bug fixes the update delivers visual enhancements for the RPG.

The Community Patch 1.7 for Gothic 3 is available for download. The changelog of the 880 MByte big package lists more than 700 improvements and bug fixes. After more than one year of working on the update, the result is worth the effort.

The most important improvements are related to alternative balancing and a new A.I. for the opponents that affects their combat behavior. Furthermore the textures have been upgraded, the water visualization improved and missing environment sounds have been added. Saving the game is said to be more reliable now and the movements of trees and leaves has been modified. Additional graphics features: A software based filter for anti aliasing was integrated (Edge Smoothing), the lighting of caves was improved and some weapons got visually improved with Bump Maps. You can download the Community Patch 1.7 for Gothic 3 from the new website of the Community Patch Team.

User OC-Burner has published some screenshots of Gothic 3 with the applied Community Patch 1.7 at the 3D Center Forum. The pictures have been taken at 2,560 x 1,920 (resized to 1,280 x 960) with 2x MSAA + TSSAA, Rim Lighting, EdgeAA and diverse ini file tewaks.
