As we learned in our interview with the Lead Designer Artem Kulakov Stormrise will be a DX10 only game. Thus the game requires Windows Vista and a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card. Stormrise also makes use of DirectX 10.1 if supported by the hardware.

Stormrise system requirements:
• Minimal requirements
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista (SP1 or better)
- CPU: 2.8 GHz dual-core processor
- Graphics card: Ati Radeon HD 2400 / Nvidia Geforce 8400
- RAM: 1 GiByte
- Hard Drive: 9 GByte free space
- Sound card
• Recommended system requirements
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista (SP1 or better)
- CPU: 2.4 GHz quad-core processor
- Graphics card: Ati Radeon HD 4850 / Nvidia Geforce 8800
- RAM: 2 GiByte
- Hard Drive: 9 GByte free space
- Sound card
For a strategy game those actually aren't very moderate requirements, but on our test system with an Core 2 Duo E8500 and a Geforce GTX 260 Stormrise was running smoothly though.

Stormrise: Graphics
Due to DX 10 Stormrise offers features like Soft Shadows or Screen Space Ambient Occlusion. DirectX 10.1 graphics card receive a performance benefit that hasn't been specified up to now.

On our comparative screenshots, which have been taken with a Geforce GTX 260, you can see the differences between low, Medium and High settings. At a distance the textures get washy quite fast and the lighting seems to vary a little, but there aren't any drastic changes.
