Alyx tweaked even more with Cinematic Mod 10

The Cinematic Mod 10 is already under construction. The texture modification for Half-Life 2 is developed by Fakefactory. PC Games Hardware presents the first screenshots.

Since December 2008 is has gone quiet around the modder Fakefactory and his Cinematic Mod for Half-Life 2. New there is a first sign of life: Fakefactory is working on version 10.

The Cinematic Mod 10 is in pre Beta phase and a release date has not been issued yet. Version 10 is said to come with heavily optimized HD characters. Due to an optimized LOD the framerate is supposed to get better noticeably. New features are HD models of objects and a new optional HD model of Alyx. Furthermore a fully dynamic soundtrack, several HDR tweaks and additional bugfixes are included, too.

Do you actually realize that this is a mod for Half-Life 2 which has been released almost 5 years ago?

And I don't think that many console games can come anywhere near those textures.
