Intel has lowered the prices for the energy efficient Core 2 quad CPUs Q9550s, Q9400s and Q8200s.

In March PC Games Hardware reported that Intel is apparently
planning to lower the prices for several processors. On April 19, the prices of the energy efficient quad-core CPUS Q9550s, Q9400s and Q8200s really dropped.
The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200s dropped from to about 207 Euros (-7 percent). The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400s went down by 13 percent - from 294 to about 255 Euros. Another processor that became 13 percent cheaper is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550s which dropped from 345 to about 302Euros.

It seems like the prices adjustments are part of the preparations for the introduction of the Q8400 and the Q8400s.
