Electronic Arts (EA) released Patch 1.50 Beta for Battlefield 2. The 1.25 GByte big package is now ready for download.

After Patch 1.50 Beta 1 for Battlefield 2 EA now released Patch Beta 2. In comparison to the first patch the maps Highway Tampa and Operation Blue Pearl have been overhauled. You can apply Patch 1.50 Beta 2 without removing the Beta 1.

Developer Dice still offers support, four years after Battlefield 2 hit the market, and now
asks for user feedback. Patch 1.50 Beta delivers a new map called Operation Blue Pearl and also adds several security updates.
The Beta physe of Patch 1.50 is said to run for some weeks in order to create enough feedback. For the correct installation of Patch 1.50 Beta, Battlefield 2 has to be updated to version 1.41.

Gameplay Tweaks
- Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced. Please note that the J10 is a superior dogfighter to the F35B and as such these two aircraft will never be equally matched.
- AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective.
- Added checks to prevent "runway grieving".
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.
- Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model
- Increased the time to go prone after jumping from 0.3 seconds to 0.7 seconds
- Fixed G36E HUD during sprinting to match other weapons.
