Gothic 4 Arcania is developed by Spellbound and published by Jowood. The creators of the previous Gothic parts are currently working on the role-playing game Risen which is a direct competitor to Gothic 4.

The fantasy RPG is supposed to be released in "Winter 2009/2010” - so it is not certain yet if the new Gothic game will be released this year. The new Gothic 4 Arcania website reveals 24 screenshots and artworks that you can find in our gallery below. The minimal system requirements of Gothic 4 Arcania read as follows:
- OS: Windows XP / Vista
- CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz, AMD Athlon 3500+
- RAM: 1 GiByte (Windows XP), 1.5 GiByte (Windows Vista)
- Graphics card: Ati Radeon 1800XT, Shader Model 3, 256 MiByte or Nvidia Geforce 6800, Shader Model 3, 256 MiByte
- Hard drive: 10 GB + 600 MB virtual memory

Gothic 4 Arcania is said to take place ten years after the plot of Gothic 3 and will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. But the different systems are not listed on the official websites, yet, so it is still possible that not all platforms are supported in the end.
