The first Stalker, Shadow of Chernobyl was released in spring 2007 and convinced with a depressing atmosphere, impressive graphics and an intense soundtrack. Only a short time after the game hit the markets diverse modifications were brought up by the community that increased the quality of the graphics and added new features like usable cars.

Stalker Complete 2009 for Shadow of Chernobyl: ...better graphics
Stalker Complete 2009 including patch v1.31 is 550 MiByte big and combines more than 20 modifications. Primarily the collection delivers extremely detailed graphics: Overhauled textures with Parallax Occlusion Mapping and detailed Bump Maps, additional particles, Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, HDR-Rendering, Depth of Field and Motion Blur bring the X-Ray Engine to its limits. Furthermore there are new sounds, a minimalistic HUD and more changes. The Stalker Complete 2009 mod requires the Stalker patch versions 1.0005 or 1.0006.

Stalker Complete 2009 for Shadow of Chernobyl: ...less fps
Back in its time Shadows of Chernobyl had already been regarded to be a real challenge for the hardware, but combined with Stalker Complete 2009 it brings even today's high-end graphics cards to their knees: In 1,920 x 1,200 pixels with 4x MSAA (forced in the driver) and 16:1 HQ-AF a Geforce GTX 280 only reaches 15 to 30 fps. The reason for this is the 1,024 MiByte "small” VRAM - with the mentioned settings the modification needs up to 1.7 GiByte video memory. The huge memory requirements even cause distortions from time to time.

The comparisons below show the graphical differences between the original Shadow of Chernobyl and Stalker Complete 2009. Underneath the screenshots you can find a 720p video that gives an example of the visual quality of the Stalker Complete 2009 modification.

Update: September 3 and September 21, 2009
Today we can offer more impressive screenshots of Stalker that has been upgraded with the Complete Mods 2009. The pictures were taken by user shane~ from the 3D Center forum. Have fun with the new shots in the gallery at the end of the page.

1º) One thing is a sky improvement graphic mod, as u know, and other thing is the Complete 2009 mod.

Which contains something more than "better skies": Also textures, graphical tweaks, etc... 2 years in graphics are 2 years.

2º) As far I know, there is more than one "better skies mod" (like in a lot of games more).

Besides that, if Complet 2009 Mod contains more than 20 different mods...should be a list with the complete relation of mod and authors?

I understand your complaint with the "modders with stick together another mods".

But do not blame to PCGH for something you can see it any STALKER hardcore fans web or for offer an information which should be a joy for any STALKER fan.

Maybe you are the author of the mod: I do not doubt it at all.

For one side you must be pride they choose your "skies" but in the other side I understand you want to have your credits as a modder.

But one thing is the problems you might have or not with this "mods mix" authors and another to come crying to a web and blame it on PCGH for not to put the name of the author of a 1/20 mod mix. Dude, grow up.

Wrong site to complain about your problems with the affaire. They are just talking about Complete 2009 Mod.

And some readers are just thankful for this. I do not care the name of each 20 mods author (some of them must have more than one person behing, anyway). IF I care, that is why I read all .tft or readme in a mod.

So maybe you would like to start a "complaint tour" on Moddb, STALKER forums, FPSbanana, Fileplanet, FileFront, etc, and so on. But this is not the place to do it, dude.

First SS comparison does look freakin sweet.

Some of the other comparisons are bad because they are in different day cycle or with different lighting. Still you can see some nice difference.
