Ghostbusters: PC version is nice price, system requirements, great screenshots

The release schedule of Ghostbusters: The Video Game is quite a complex affair. Because of an exclusive deal with Sony the PC version of the game was not yet released in Europe and other regions using the PAL system - the PS2 and PS 3 versions are available though. In America all announced versions of Ghostbusters: The Video Game have been released in June.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game - Prices
At Amazon.com the PC version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game currently costs about 26 USD only, while the prices for the PS3 and Xbox 360 games are, with more than 50 USD, on a more common level. A possible tribute to the missing online multiplayer mode? At Amazon Germany the game is already listed for 50 Euros, but since Germany is one of the PAL countries the price might drop until the game is released there. Some interesting facts have also been discovered by some user reviews: German users mention that it is possible to install the imported version of the game in German. Thus menu language and speech can be activated by editing the Config.ini file (change language from English to German) and uncheck the English language in the game settings. If this trick also works with other languages has not been confirmed yet.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
PC Games Hardware has already reported about the technology of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. In several English speaking forums gamers now report that the game has extreme loading times between the levels and that the multi-core support isn't very good. Another fact criticized are the problematic controls with PC input devices when hunting ghosts.

The graphics on the other hand are very good, especially the faces. Screenshots posted by user Dargo in the 3DCenter Forum reveal the richness of details. The Ghostbusters pictures have been taken at a resolution of 2,520 x 1,576 pixels with 4x MSAA and 16:1 AF. Afterwards they were downsampled to 1,680 x 1,050.

What do you think about the pictures in our gallery? And what is your opinion on the different release dates for the PC version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game? Tell us in the comments.

Yep agreed, nice looking game.

Its nice to see some heavy work put into a game based on movie, for a change.

Different releasing dates for different parts of the world and delays the pc version...........it dosent matter for couple of days or a week but these delays goes for weeks sometimes even months.......no wounder we see high piracy on pc games.Funny thing is these same developers then talking about high piracy rates caused lowe sale on pc games

About the visual quality of the game....... characters are very detailed especially faces, clothing and proton packs but environments are so console like.I would say pure console port like prototype.
