On its product website Auzentech has introduced two new sound cards: The Auzentech X-Raider 7.1 and the X-Studio 5.1.

The Auzentech X-Raider 7.1 offers the following specifications:
•8 (7.1) Surround Sound System
•Extraordinary Magic voice, Microphone echo and key-shifting
•NE5532A OPAMP / Swappable OPAMP sockets for 7.1 channel
•SPDIF(Optical) Input & Output Support
•Internal Digital output via 2-pin connector
•HD Front Panel Audio Support
•Xear3D Audio Engine, EAX1.0/2.0, A3D and DirectSound, A3D
•Line Input : 3.5 mm phone jack
•Microphone Input : 3.5 mm phone jack
•Speakers Output : 4 x 1/8” stereo 3.5 mm phone jacks (Front/Rear/Center-SW/Side)
•2 SPDIF Input/Output (TOS Link) , Maximum 24bit/96 kHz
•CD-In, Aux-In and signal input converter

With both sound cards Auzentech focuses on the PCI format. Thanks to the low profile format the X-Studio 5.1 are especially qualified for HTPCs with a flat design. Auzentech mentions a recommended retail price of 49,99 USD (X-Studio 5.1) and 59,99 USD (X-Raider 7.1).

The 5.1 card it uses the VIA tremor, it's the lowest of the line in the envy 24 series audio.

The 7.1 uses cmedia's 8768 chip which is the lowest of there chips.

I use to use an envy 24 card they are pretty good cards, I remember we use to use different firmwares on the CHAINTECH AV-710, so we could use better drivers from other brands usiing the same chip.

I learned a lot from that av-710


Now I'm using the x-fi xtreme music .

Neither of these cars use a Creative SPU.

Once Audio Card was an essential part in my PC build. But On-board sound is so great, really leaps and bounds from what it was couple of years back that a dedicated sound card seems like an afterthought.

Unless of course you have some special needs/audio setup or crazy audiophile.

However, for 50$ is not that bad, if it proves better than on-board.

Is theses cards come with creative chips or something else ?
