Dragon Age Origins: Collector's Edition in detail

For 65 USD Gamestop offers the Collector's Edition of Dragon Age: Origins. The big package of the Bioware RPG, which will be released this October, comes with a tin case, an extra DVD with making-of videos, soundtrack, strategy guide, wallpaper and several trailers. Additionally EA gives a cloth map.

The Collector's Edition also offers some goodies for the games itself: Three exclusive in-game contents, one more quest and the unlockable character Shale. Interestingly there will also be an exclusive item for Mass Effect 2.

Background: Dragon Age: Origins
For Dragon Age: Origins Bioware developed a special engine. Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are planned as well but the PC version obtains priority. According to Dr. Ray Muzyka the PC traditionally is the perfect platform for Bioware games. To which extent Bioware is using current PC technologies which makes the PC version look different from consoles has not been revealed yet. At least we know that Dragon Age: Origins will not use a Securom copy protection.

According to Bioware the focus of the epic RPG Dragon Age: Origins will be different background stories of the playable characters. So every story offers different locations, characters and events which determine the player's motivations during the course of the game. In total the player can select between six stories. Furthermore the gameplay will be different for the PC and console versions.
