First Crysis 2 videos possibly at GDC plus new Cryengine 3 videos

Apparently the first video material of Crysis 2 has been on display at the Games developer Conference in Cologne. Also new: Videos of the Cryengine 3.

At the Siggraph 2009 Crytek had introduced the lighting system of the Cryengine 3. It is called "Light Propagation Volumes” and is used for Global Illumination and Massive Lighting. According to Crytek both techniques are supposed to improve the lighting quality. The Cryengine 3 will be used or Crysis 2 for example.

Now a video showing Cevat Yerli at a speech about the technology of the Cryenigne 3 was published at the Intel Youtube Channel. After 75 seconds there are video sequences of a game shown. Unfortunately it has not been revealed what kind of scenes those are: It could have been a technology demonstration but it is also possible that those scenes were the first footage of Crysis 2. The rumor that EA wants to release Crysis 2 videos at the Gamescom has once again been brushed up by this.

Furthermore there is new information about the Cryengine 3: IGN has two new Cryengine 3 trailers that show, among other things, the Live Creation Technology. With this technique the developers can work on the content of all three platforms simultaneously and test the adjustments immediately on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The problem is wit the devs. Coding for the PS3 is just so different n not as easy as it is for the 360. Dats all there is to it.

Get the right codes and you'll see how the PS3 really performs.

Comparison videos of how the lighting looks better in 360 is so trite now. They just coded it better for the 360. just get that alredi ppl.

Go n play a really gud PS3 exclusive n then you tell me if PS3's hardware is a failure. I heard the new Killzone is a gud example.

And i'm not even a PS3 fanman. I have the 360.

I don't know much about Console, because i dont care much. What i meant is that from all the comparisons i saw (and i saw like 4 or something lol), if there was any difference (some was a big, most was minor) than 360 had the upper hand.

But you are right, its not that Sony failed, maybe they only failed at pricing the thing or maybe bad dev tools, i dont know.

What we all can agree is that PC is the much superior candidate

Senior Member 23.08.2009 01:59	i was far more amazed by the cevat yerli video,especially the fantasy based scene at the end..looks un-fing-believable;the proceedural effects with the dripping rain and all that,and the fire looks better than any fire ive ever seen before(except in the real world lol).
