VAC cheat protection fails

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - New patch on Steam and wallhack video

Just recently Modern Warfare 2 has been updated via Steam. The patch improves the IWNEt matchmaking. Possible bug fixes and wallhack preventions are not mentioned though.

Actually Infinity Ward wanted to make everything better in Modern Warfare 2: New cheat protection with Valve's VAC, Steam connection, no dedicated servers and no mods. All those steps were taken to prevent that gamers could get unfair advantages from cheats and modification. Now a video on Youtube shows that the safety measures are not fully successful. Apparently there are some wallhacks circulating the internet.

Now gamers are asking the question if this wallhack, which has been available only 48 hours after Modern Warfare 2 has been released, is an omen for the game's future. Activision Blizzard had the video removed from Youtube due to copyright infringements.

If the developers will upgrade their anti cheat program soon, is not known. At least they recently improved the IWNet matchmaking by supplying a patch via Steam.

At the end of the day, it's all about money and politics...

Double-edged sword, is what I say...
Either way you look at it, the PC consumer is still "ganked" in the end. If we decide to boycott and NOT purchase the PC version of the game, Activision will have a viable excuse to no longer have their developers create for PC gaming (the only thing executives sees are numbers, nothing else). On the other side, if we do decide to purchase/support this game on the PC, it says that we allow Activision to tell us what we SHOULD like and that we just have to DEAL WITH IT. Either way, Activision wins. Sad, so sad!

Maybe Activision had the final say, but i'm sure IW didn't give a damn. If they would care they would definitely done what is "right".

Believe me if no or most PC gamers would not buy the game then Activision would definitely take note. Although small than Console market, it still is a considerable revenue for them.
There is only one option here and it is not to buy the game.

Don't spread misinformation!

Actually i think that this was one of the "excuses" too, for dropping dedicated servers.

It also makes sense why they have removed that video. Copyright infringement my butt! They know they messed up.
