The release date for James Cameron's Avatar: The Game has been set for early December. Now the multiplayer mode has been introduced in a video.

Original article: November 26, 2009 James Cameron's Avatar: The Game will also offer a multiplayer part. On ten different maps up to 16 players can compete in five different game modes. In the battle for Pandora the players can choose between the troops of the RDA or the warriors of the Na'vi. Each faction has individual equipment, weapons and abilities. The teams of the RDA with their modern weapons have to face the swords, axes and bows of the Na'vi fighters.
On the launch Avatar: The Game will offer 10 maps, and five game modes. RPG flair is delivered by 12 weapon categories, 48 weapon variants, 15 armor classes and 14 special abilities. The game modes are Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Capture and Hold, King of the Hill and a mode that is described as: Destroy important tactical points of your opponent before he does the same to you.
Update: December 4, 2009 James Cameron's Avatar: The Game has hit the markets. Right in time the launch trailer has been released, too. The video shows impressions of the action game in which the players participate in the battle for Pandora. Avatar takes the player deep into the heart of the planet and gamers will meet the Na'vi, the native population of Pandora, and encounter many creatures and life forms.
