Especially Radeon owners didn't have much fun with The Saboteur up to now. Pandemic's game suffers from problems with combinations of multi-core and Radeon graphics cards. After Electronic Arts recently even recommended playing with a single core only, a patch is now supposed to deliver the real solution for the problems.

The patch comes with the serial number 1.03 and is still in beta phase. Electronic Arts asks for the support of the community to finalize the update. The streaming on multi-core systems with Radeon graphics cards and Windows Vista or Windows 7 is now said to work much better. Logged in PCGH users can download the article at the end of the page.

From the Changelog:
Game no longer freezes during play on the following hardware combination:
* ATI video card from the 3K, 4K, and 5K series
* Windows Vista/7 both 32 bit and 64 bit

Known Issues & Current Workaround:

Users with Quad core CPU's will possibly have significant streaming issues without the following work around. The team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix for it in the next patch update. If you are running a Quad Core CPU please follow the steps below to set Game Only affinity on your CPU. While this will decrease the amount of streaming glitches, it is not a full proof fix.

Recommended Game-only steps for Quad core users only:

Windows 7 and Vista

1.) Boot the game.
2.) Wait for the main menu to load, then press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
3.) Select Start Task Manager.
4.) If the game is visible, press Alt-Tab, otherwise continue to the next step.
5.) Inside the Task Manager, go to the Processes tab.
6.) Find Saboteur.exe, right-click it, and select Set Affinity...
7.) De-select CPU 2 and CPU 3.
8.) Click OK.Game no longer freezes during play on the following hardware combination:

No problems for me with Borderlands. The only issue I had was the grey textures that is fixed with the latest (9.12) drivers. No crashes for me.

The only problem I now have is Dragon Age's Anisotropic Filtering flushing on and off while playing. I don't know if it is ATI cards only that cause AF issues in Dragon Age.

I didnt know the grey textures were fixed with 9.12 Nice
The only problem i have with this game is (besides the grey textures already corrected) the performance. A GTX 280 can do as nearly much as my 5870s in Crossfire.

But ive heard bad things about The Saboteur.
