Nvidia GF100 will be Geforce GTX 480 and GTX 470

Nvidia just announced that the forthcoming GPUs based on the GF100 will be called Geforce GTX 480 and Geforce GTX 470.

Now it is official. The first two consumer level GPUs that are based on the GF100 are going to be called Geforce GTX 480 and Geforce GTX 470. This has been announced on Nvidia's Facebook site. Although the final specifications of the GF100 have not been released yet, there is quite some material available, since Nvidia showed systems at the CES where they also presented the tech demos of the GF100.

ATI has nothing to do with DX API's, Microsoft is the creator of DirectX. Therefore you will not see any DX12 hardware from either Nvidia or ATI until Microsoft chooses to create a new DX - which most likely wont see the light of day until a) the next gen consoles arrive (2012), b) Microsoft releases a new OS that supports DX12. You got a long wait buddy, and hardware released in the near future claiming to be DX12 will only be bought by ****ers like you.
