The fifth part of Sid Meier's Civilization series is as addictive as its predecessors. The player permanently wants to know what technology to research next to give his historical alter ego an edge conquering more space. Along with diplomatic and political strategies as well as strategically relevant placement of big cities the turn-based fighting system guarantees you deep strategic experience.
Like its predecessors, Civilization 5 offers many possibilities of creating the in-game world. Although the game in its course is getting increasingly complex, it is never becoming complicated and it won't overtax even newbies in that kind of game. Other positive aspects to Civilization 5 are its long time to play and that it is worth playing several times.

Developer Firaxis is proud to introduce its native support of DirectX 11 - in fact, according to Firaxis, DX 11 is the native mode for Civ 5. This helps increase the level of detail of the terrain, thanks to the tesselation feature. Scenes would load much faster and the texture resolution is higher. Waves could be animated in a more complex way. Particles and fog look more delicate. Highlights, high-resolution shadows and Direct Compute are further DirectX-11-features.
