Being rendered entirely with in-engine graphics, Rockstar North has just released the first official trailer for the much anticipated Grand Theft Auto V - GTA V for short. Even though the fifth installment of the franchise for performance reasons is unlikely to feature the same level of visual goodness, PCGH compares the graphics to the predecessor tweaked to the fullest with Mods like iCEnhancer and a DirectX-10-patch.

The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 more than just indicated the setting, GTA V will use: San Andreas, the virtual replica of the real-life City of Angels, Los Angeles, will be the location where the action takes place. Not explicitly mentioned, but further established by scenes from
the trailer where Hollywood-like "Vinewood" signs are shown, Grand Theft Auto will take the player back to San Andreas, home of the third part of the series already.
Avid Fans know about the plethora of fan-made mods for GTA. Take Rikintosh's DirectX 10 Mod for GTA: San Andreas for example - while lacking Ragdoll-based animations or hi-res textures, you get additional high-quality visual effects. The
iCEnhancer 1.3 for San Andreas leverages most of the benefits of Rockstar's RAGE-Engine orginally used in GTA IV. For this title, however, the iCEnhancer demonstrates the full power of the engine and provides the game with a stunning new look.
In our gallery, you can compare the visuals from the GTA V in-engine trailer, iCEnhanced GTA IV and GTA San Andreas with RAGE-engine and decide for yourself what looks best! Have fun!
